Student visas
The study category depends on the course. For an F or M student visa, begin with an SEVP-approved school; the school issues Form I-20 after acceptance, and SEVIS requirements form part of the process.
Confirm the correct category and current embassy instructions.
Employment categories
US work routes differ by the type of employment and applicant. Many require an employer-related petition or other prior approval. Match the job and intended activity to the correct category.
